Factory Robot Assistant
A work-in-progress demonstrating how a robotic factory workforce can be managed and automatically deployed via a conversational interface — an iRPA showcase.
The Factory Robot Assistant demonstrates how a robotic workforce within an organisation can be managed through a conversational interface. It’s also an example of iRPA (Intelligent Robotic Process Automation), where robots can be automatically deployed based on current versus ideal production levels.
The robot was 3D-printed in-house by Finlay Mackenzie, a previous intern at the Innovation Labs. Prior to Covid-19 restrictions, I refitted it with new electronics to enable internet-based control. The conversational layer uses SAP Conversational AI to interpret operator commands and dispatch the robot to the appropriate task.
