iOS supervisor app using thermal imaging to mitigate Covid-19 spread within South Africa's mining industry, built on SAP Fieldglass.
The Fieldglass H&S applications were developed for a group of mining companies in South Africa. The effects of Covid-19 are particularly damaging for South Africa’s mining industry, where thousands of contingent workers travel from their home to the mines every day.
The combination of the worker and supervisor apps work as a proof of concept of how the spread of Covid-19 could be mitigated within the mining industry. I was responsible for developing the supervisor iOS app, which uses native Apple frameworks and the Flir One Thermal Camera SDK to screen workers for elevated temperatures before they enter the site.
